Papa's Pumpkin Patch, a long-standing Bismarck-Mandan tradition, has opened at a new location next door to its previous site. The beloved autumn family destination, now in its 44th year of operation, is situated at 4205 Burnt Creek Loop, directly north of where it stood for 43 years. This move marks a new chapter for the patch, which has been a community fixture since 1983, now operating under new ownership.
Chase Dauenhauer is the new owner, taking the reins of the enterprise first conceived by original architect Dave Pearce. The patch now spans 40 acres on Dauenhauer's land, significantly expanding its footprint. A core team of five family members manages the operation, ensuring the continuation of the familiar community experience. The animals on site are also owned by the Dauenhauer family.
Visitors can expect all their favorite activities to return, alongside several new attractions designed to enhance the experience. Among the most anticipated additions is Blast Laser Tag, which will be available during the first four Saturdays in September, with potential extension into October. Other new features include the Slide Hill and Papa's Jumper, offering fresh ways for families to enjoy their visit. A new boutique shop and a new trolley are also part of the expanded offerings. For those seeking new treats, Tea's Kettle Corn is available, according to the new ownership.
For refreshments, two large concession areas are on-site, providing a variety of food options. These include classic pumpkin treats, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches, among other choices. The new location also features large party tents, which are ideal for various gatherings such as corporate team-building events, birthday parties, or church groups.
Papa's Pumpkin Patch welcomes visitors daily from Noon to 7 pm, Monday through Sunday, weather permitting. The season is set to conclude on Sunday, October 25th. Admission grants access to numerous free activities on the property, while certain select activities will require a small separate fee. Tickets can be purchased directly at the door or conveniently online via the Papa's Pumpkin Patch website. Individual season passes are available for $30, or families can opt for a family season pass for $150.
