The Bismarck State College volleyball team secured victories over both Valley City State and Mayville State on Saturday at the Bavendick Center, as The Bismarck Tribune reported. These wins marked a significant achievement for the Mystics. Elsewhere in local volleyball, the University of Mary volleyball team celebrated a Senior Day win, overcoming Minnesota-Crookston at home and breaking a 12-game losing streak.
The Bismarck State Mystics’ performance against Mayville State saw key contributions across the roster. McKenna Brendel led the team with 15 kills, followed by Reese Duchsherer with 11 kills. Ellie Baumstarck contributed 8 kills, while Jordyn Rood and Ashlee Stanger each added 7 kills. Aislyn Hogan also recorded 1 kill for the Mystics. Service aces for Bismarck State came from Duchsherer with 4, Brooklyn Sand with 3, and Piper Harris with 1. On the setting front, Aspen Roaldson distributed 21 assists, closely followed by Aislyn Hogan with 20 assists. Duchsherer added 2 assists, and Piper Harris and Aubrey Flynn each recorded 1 assist. Defensively, Piper Harris was a standout with 23 digs, with Reese Duchsherer adding 18 digs. Aubrey Flynn contributed 12 digs, and Brooklyn Sand had 8 digs.
